Pokémon Legends: Z-A is rolling out an update that makes obtaining Mega Stones from Ranked Battles much simpler.
The original Kalos starter Pokémon—Fennekin, Froakie, and Chespin—are available early in the game and now feature brand-new Mega Evolutions. Until now, these Mega Evolutions could only be unlocked through items awarded in online Ranked Battles and were completely inaccessible in the story mode.
The update doesn’t remove the need to participate in online Ranked Battles, but it significantly reduces the grind. In Season 2, players can earn a Greninjite in just a single Ranked Battle—even if they lose—because rank points are awarded for actions in battle, not just victories. Skilled players can climb multiple ranks at once, making it faster to reach S rank and unlock the Delphoxite.
For players aiming to collect all Mega Stones, this change is a welcome one. A few Ranked Battles in Seasons 2 and 3 can net all three Mega Stones with minimal effort, after which you can skip Ranked Battles entirely if you wish.
Season 2 of Pokémon Legends: Z-A begins Wednesday, November 5, you can buy these shiny alpha pokemons with perfect IVs and get ready for it.
